Children's Small Stories

SeaLotus is also home to Small Stories, a children's relaxation programme developed with my own technique carried out either in a group setting or individually, which was piloted at a local school and was met with much enthusiasm.

These workshops are called Small Stories and were trialled in a local school last year, which were very successful. Small Stories are available as a one off workshop or as a course of workshops locally

The aim of Small Stories is to help children learn about relaxation and being calm through having fun. Each story is uniquely written to incorporate describing words, colours and sounds, which are also enhanced by gentle background music, to stimulate the imagination and encourage visualisation techniques whilst providing a stable, safe environment.

These experiences are to promote being safe, comfortable and calm whilst aiding relaxation, concentration, self-confidence, creativity and encouraging breathing techniques. The range of Small Stories also covers positive affirmations, yogic breathing and calming exercises, which can be applied through the stories to help children cope with different life situations and a range of emotions.

To book or enquire about Small Stories group or individual’s workshops and/or courses, please fill in an enquiry form or contact SeaLotus by telephone or email.
Testimonials
"Gayle has been into West Down School to work with a variety of children some Year 6 and other younger children in small groups.
She also worked with John on a one to one basis. The children looked forward to their sessions and they and their parents completed a questionnaire before and after for me to use as baseline evidence
for Healthy Schools Plus. As a staff we noticed that some children with real anger problems suffered less frequent outburst, they were able
to use some of the strategies taught them by Gayle to calm themselves down."

Sandra Clements - Head Teacher, West Down School
Girl Mary who took part with her twin Steph said, "It stopped me and Steph arguing so much. We just thought about the balloon, when you blow all the horrible thoughts into it and then let it go."

Boy Simon said, "I liked it when Gayle told us stories, we laid down and it was relaxing."

Boy John said, "I thought it was really relaxing, it was quiet and there was no one else around. Gayle taught me things to do when I get really angry. She showed me how to calm down at playtime."
